The Progressive Connection supports networking among local democratic and progressive organizations.

In the wake of the 2004 presidential election, many democrats and progressives in Mid Michigan are searching for new places to work politically and are reaching out to find new allies. We welcome and support this new political energy and networking. We believe that sharing information more widely between local groups will enhance cooperation and effectiveness. Our goals are to:
  • Raise awareness of the range and missions of democratic and progressive groups in the greater Lansing area.
  • Support more dialogue, cooperation, and coordination between such groups.
  • Strengthen the groups' efforts through this networking.
  • And help volunteers connect with individual groups that match their interests.
We invite you and the groups you belong to to join us in this effort.

Help Wanted

We need your help to realize the full potential of this site.

This web site and related services are the result of an all volunteer effort. But there is so much more we can do to enhance democratic and progressive politics. To realize the potential we need your ideas, your participation, and your volunteer help!

Our needs include:
  • Steering Committee: Members advise and assist with management and promotion. They play a key role in shaping effective connections with other Mid-Michigan groups and help to shape development goals for the site and networking infrastructure. Business is conducted online as much as possible.
  • Editorial Groups: manage, edit, write, and publish content for the home page. Activities include reviewing material, writing or editing articles, fashioning lead-in's, making editorial decisions in cooperation with others.
  • Web development: use web editing and programming skills to enhance the web site.

If you would like to volunteer in any of these ways,
or just want to talk it over or share an idea,
please contact

Free List Services

The Progressive Connection offers list services for groups or projects of local Democrats or progressives. Is the convenience of an email list service a good fit for your activity? Then we can make it easy to start using one right away, whether or not your group has formally established itself.

You can decide how you want the list managed and whether to do it yourself or leave it to us. And you won't have to put up with the ads that Yahoo Groups place on every group post, or have your computer infected by their data miners! Our service has no cost and is ad free. To inquire or set up a service, email
Webminder.
